Takeyla Sirmons Principal

Takeyla Sirmons has accumulated almost two decades of experience in the field of education. In 2023, she became a member of LUMIN Schools, specifically Northwest Lutheran. Throughout her educational trajectory, she has assumed diverse roles, including teaching assistant, lead teacher, regional literacy lead, Dean of instruction, and Principal. Takeyla demonstrates exemplary positive and professional leadership, which significantly impacts the well-being of both students and staff members. She has taken charge of the implementation of novel programs and optimal methodologies for the facilitation of teaching and learning. Takeyla demonstrates ongoing personal and professional growth in her spiritual journey, leadership skills, and pedagogical expertise through the cultivation of constructive connections with colleagues and families. The scripture that she holds in the highest regard is Luke 1:37, "For with God nothing shall be impossible," which suggests that there are no limits to what can be achieved with God.

Takeyla's exceptional tenacity, strong organizational skills, ability to align curriculum and standards, and commitment to elevating instructional rigor have been instrumental in her journey. She’s provided invaluable support for literacy instruction across a network of schools in the Milwaukee area. She has demonstrated a strong inclination towards collaborative work and has previously provided assistance to a group of educational leaders in the process of organizing, creating, and implementing professional development programs.

Takeyla obtained a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from the University of Phoenix, followed by a master's degree in Educational Leadership from Arizona State University. She abides by the adage, "Yesterday is history, Tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift.”
