LaQuasha Logan, Principal

Education has always been my calling. Although I once dreamed of becoming a lawyer, that path changed in college as I discovered my passion for mentoring students through tutoring and serving as a Corps Member with City Year. Those experiences confirmed my purpose: helping young people discover their God-given potential.

With more than 12 years in education, I have served in a variety of leadership roles, including as the founding middle school principal at Dr. Howard Fuller Collegiate Academy. I bring experience in instructional leadership, coaching educators, using data to drive student success, and building strong partnerships with students and families.

I earned my bachelor's degree in English from Fisk University, a master's degree in Women's Studies from Loyola University Chicago, and a master's degree in Educational Leadership from National Louis University. I am currently pursuing my Doctorate in Education at Alverno College.

Joining the LUMIN family has been a true blessing because it allows me to lead in a Christ-centered environment where every student is known, loved, and challenged. I believe every child has purpose, and I am passionate about creating a joyful school culture where students grow academically, spiritually, and personally.

Originally from Chicago, I enjoy serving in my church's Senior Ministry, reading, writing, traveling, praise dancing, crafting, and spending time with friends. I also love attending sporting events and sharing life with my energetic Pomeranian, Bentley.

One of my greatest joys is seeing students excited to learn and celebrating their growth alongside their families. My favorite Bible verse is Psalm 46:5: "God is within her, she will not fall."

Meet Brittany Wooten, Assistant Principal

Brittany Wooten, Assistant Principal

My name is Brittany Wooten, and I proudly serve as the Assistant Principal at Northwest Lutheran. With more than 12 years in education, I have always felt called to lead, inspire, guide, and uplift those I encounter. My passion for education comes from a desire to make a lasting difference in the lives of young people, helping scholars grow academically, spiritually, and personally while discovering and developing their God-given potential.

Today's scholars face many challenges that can impact both their academic success and personal growth. As an educational leader, I have witnessed these obstacles firsthand, inspiring me to lead with purpose and ensure every scholar receives the support, encouragement, and opportunities they need to thrive. My goal has always been to help scholars build confidence, develop resilience, and recognize the unique gifts God has placed within them.

Before entering education, I worked as a crisis stabilizer, a role that deeply impacted my life and strengthened my commitment to serving children and families. That experience affirmed my calling to education and allowed me to continue living out God's purpose for my life. Every day, I have the privilege of building meaningful relationships with scholars, inspiring a lifelong love of learning, and equipping them with the knowledge, confidence, and character they need to navigate life's challenges.

I believe education is far more than a profession—it is a calling from God. My purpose is to inspire young people to become confident, compassionate, and capable leaders who are prepared to make a meaningful difference in the world. I hope every scholar I serve leaves knowing they are known, loved, challenged, deeply valued, fully capable, and empowered to overcome obstacles through faith and perseverance.

Above all, I strive to be a guiding light for my scholars by fostering their spiritual growth and encouraging each one to develop a personal relationship with Christ. My prayer is that they walk confidently in God's truth, positively influence those around them, and grow into leaders who reflect His love in everything they do.

Meet Carmen Bell, Administrative Assistant

Carmen Bell, Administrative Assistant

Carmen Bell, Administrative Assistant/Lunch Coordinator at Northwest Lutheran School, has been a part of the LUMIN family since 2010. She has been working in the Education field for 12 years.

Carmen grew up on the Northside of Milwaukee, WI. From a very young age, Carmen dreamed she would grow up to be a singer or artist. Before becoming an Administrative Assistant at LUMIN, she was a stay-at-home mom. She received her High School diploma and went on to attend UW-Milwaukee and Cardinal Stritch to take courses in Business Management.

Carmen is married and has 6 children along with a French Bulldog named Josie. She likes to volunteer her time at her church on the worship team. On Saturday mornings you can find Carmen praying and meditating in her courtyard surrounded by nature.

One of the things that drew Carmen to LUMIN is the wonderful souls that work there. She has a love and passion for people and has the ability to connect with families. Meeting all the new families, building our community and helping where there is a need is what Carmen loves most about her job!

Her favorite scripture verse is Proverbs 3:4-5 “Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.”

Meet Heather Braun, Operations Manager

Heather Braun, Operations Manager

I was born and raised in rural Wisconsin, about 45 minutes southwest of Green Bay. I moved to Milwaukee to attend college and just never left! I met and married my husband and we own a house on the northwest side of Milwaukee. My hobbies include reading, traveling, crafting, hiking, and being outside in nature. Education is my second career and my true calling in life. After graduating from UW-Milwaukee with a bachelor's degree in history, I worked as a restaurant manager for 8 years before deciding I wanted to go back to school to receive my teaching degree. I attended Wisconsin Lutheran College and worked through their Master's program. I have 11 years in education, 9 of them with LUMIN schools, at Northwest Lutheran, as a classroom teacher and as Operations Manager.

My favorite Bible verse is Proverbs 13:20, "Surround yourself with those who uplift and inspire you, for they are a blessing in disguise." This verse inspires me because choosing to surround yourself with the right people dictates your character and destiny. I surround myself with people who encourage positive growth and continue to push me to be a better person than I was the day before.

Choosing to go into education has always been about more than just a career for me—it’s about making a difference in the lives of young people. I chose this path because I believe every child has value, purpose, and the ability to grow. Being an educator gives me the opportunity to help students discover their strengths, build confidence, and realize that they are capable of more than they often believe.

I was drawn to education because of the impact teachers can have. A kind word, a moment of encouragement, or simply showing up consistently can shape a student’s life in powerful ways. I want to be that steady, positive influence—someone who not only teaches content but also cares deeply about each student as a person. Ultimately, I went into education because I believe in hope. I believe in the potential of every student who walks through the classroom door. Being in education means I get to invest in the future every single day, and that is both a responsibility and a privilege I don’t take lightly.

Meet Sheneda Daniels, Instructional Coach

Sheneda Daniels, Instructional Coach

I joined LUMIN in 2024 as the middle school math teacher at Northwest Lutheran School. This year, I am stepping into a leadership role as the Instructional Coach at Northwest Lutheran.

I have worked in education for more than 10 years, serving as a volunteer, paraprofessional, teacher, and now Instructional Coach. Throughout my journey, I have taught many grade levels and subjects; however, math has become my niche.

Throughout my career, I have helped many students reach their full potential in both character and academics. I have also had the privilege of supporting my colleagues by serving as an advanced teacher, mentor, and math lead. Along the way, I have grown in confidence by building strong relationships, supporting fellow educators, learning to lead the LUMIN way, and maximizing every opportunity to learn and grow.

I earned my high school diploma from Bay View High School before earning a Bachelor of Arts in Women's and Gender Studies from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. I also hold two master's degrees: a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Arizona and a Master of Arts in Leadership and Innovation from Wisconsin Lutheran College.

I am an alumna of the PEOPLE Program and the Center for Urban Teaching (CfUT). I am also a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated.

A Scripture I live by is Philippians 4:13: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

This journey has not been easy, but it has been worth it. I thank God every day for giving me strength, believing in me, and allowing me to believe in myself.
